The Communication Club was formed in 2023 to answer the need of parents and educators in accessing free and research informed support, resources and information.
I’m a former teacher and university lecturer who has specialised in working with children with additional learning needs. I gained my Masters degree in 2016 and prior to this I achieved post graduate qualifications in the field of special educational needs focusing on language difficulties.
As a lecturer I have created and led undergraduate modules in Additional Learning Needs, Supporting Behaviour and Outdoor Learning. I am also a qualified Mental Health First Aider and my research interests include the interconnectivity of these areas, especially the role of gamification in the learning environment and the impact of ecotherapy as a support to learning.
I live in South Wales, on a small holding with my husband, toddler, baby son, two bouncy dogs and four spoilt chickens. In my spare time I am an avid artisan enjoying crafting with glass, clay and natural resources found in our garden and local beach.
